Kids Week in the West End
From the 14th-28th August 2009 children aged from 5-16 will be given the opportunity to experience the magic of London’s theatre FREE this summer! Kids Week in the West End will offer over 28 top shows including Billy Elliot: The Musical, Les Miserables, Disney’s The Lion King, Mama Mia! and Sister Act plus exclusive show linked activities and workshops.
This summer brings a great opportunity to get your child interested in theatre; whether it’s smash hit musicals, comedy, dance or captivating plays, Kids Week guarantees a great experience for all of the family.
Kids Week also offers a series of unique workshops including a dance class with the English National Ballet, an opportunity to peek behind the scenes of the Lyric Hammersmith or learn about stage and set design with The Tricycle Theatre.
Emma De Souza, Kids Week Project Manager for The Society of London Theatre, says; ‘London theatre is bursting with energy, creativity and fun and with core educational values at the heart of the wonderful array of shows on offer, it is a great way to enthuse and inspire the next generation from a young age. One of our most popular annual initiatives - Kids Week in the West End – is dedicated to encouraging children to enjoy all the benefits of London theatre with a magical experience they will remember, plus fantastic workshops and exclusive activities that help build their confidence and have a positive impact on even the littlest drama queen!’
The ticket deal is simple - one child (aged between 5 and 16) can go absolutely free to any participating show when accompanied by a full paying adult, and another two children can go for half price. Kids Week 2009 is proud to be supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity's Theatres for Theatres Appeal. Tickets can be booked from Tuesday 14 July 2009 at www.kidsweek.co.uk or by calling the Kids Week ticket hotline on 0844 248 5151. See www.kidsweek.co.uk for more information.
