A new weekly newspaper aimed at those working in further education has been launched by learning and skills events, consultancy and training company, Lsect.
Following a successful pilot run during the summer, the first edition of FE Week went out to over 3,000 UK colleges, training providers, government representatives and related companies, who said it was “long overdue”.
The newspaper, which promises to rescue news of interest to this part of the sector from the back of other education publications, includes contributions from experts from within the FE sector and well-known national education journalists.
“I am delighted and excited to be delivering a much-needed publication for the FE sector, especially when it seems that other players are hiding our sector's news in the ‘run of paper’,” said the company’s managing director Nick Linford. “It’s a bold move for us but we think we’re onto a winner. This is a real proposition; FE Week employs four, full-time qualified journalists and it will quickly become a valuable and informative resource.”
As well as the print edition, FE Week is also freely available online at http://www.feweek.co.uk with the website offering traditional web browser layout and a print replica e-edition.
